Mr. Waters has made many different kinds of exploitation and not all of them seem to fit into one category. So this seemed like the best spot for him.

He is of a different caliber than most directors of this genre and my favorite at that.

My preferred flicks in no particular order include...

Multiple Maniacs (1970)
Female Trouble (1974)
Pink Flamingos (1972)
Mondo Trasho (1969)
Eat Your Makeup (1968)
Polyester (1981)
Desperate Living (1977)

post Hairspray(which I cant stand)

Serial Mom (1994)
Cecil B Demented (2000)

The last two listed are still good films in their own right but dont match up to the previous ones listed.

In my opinion he seemed to have lost something after Hairspray. I still love the man but his films just dont have the same feel as they once did.

Anyone??

Definitely a fan. I LOVE Female Trouble and Pink Flamingos. I have to admit though, that I also enjoy the later films as well... quite a bit even.

I dig every movie of his I'
Serial Mom (1994)
Cecil B Demented (2000)

You didn't even like PECKER or A DIRTY SHAME enough to list?

I don't care much for HAIRSPRAY, but other than that he hasn't disappointed me in any of the other films I've seen.

Love his old school stuff but I like his more recent stuff a lot too. There's just something insidious about his more mainstream work. As if the general public is being slipped a mickey of subversiveness inside of what they believe to be a "safe" film. Laughing

Cecil B. Demented, of course wouldn't fit that, as it's just fucking nuts, but it's subject matter is right up my alley!

Alicia Witt's story about how her family took turns raping her under the Christmas tree is priceless, classic Waters.

THIS FILTHY WORLD, a film of his stand-up act is on the Showtime channels this month. Looking forward to checking it out.

I love all of his films except for A Dirty Shame, I thought it was too stupid, I thought the casting was really bad, Johnny Knoxville and Selma Blair were horrible.

I hope Fruitcake will be great,

I really liked Pecker I think there is such a great innocence about it, it's a really sweet movie and I feel all warm inside whenever I watch it haha.

I didn't like Cecil B Dememnted at first, but I watched it with my friend's 5 year old and she loved it and I sort of embraced the corny teensy nature of it.

As for his older films I pretty much like them all, I think my favourite is Polyester.

I am a HUGE fan of Waters. The only thing I didn't like was Mondo Trasho, because I thought it was boring.

You NEED to see A Dirty Shame. It is a total return to form in my eyes for Waters. That movie fucking kills me.

Crybaby is the shit.

His older films are much more raunchy than his post Polyester days. Check them out if you don't mind seeing guys flex their assholes.
