Random Cronenberg discussion can go here! Top 10 movies of his etc...

For me...

1. Videodrome (10/10)
2. Dead Ringers (10/10)
3. The Fly (10/10)
4. The Brood (9/10)
5. Shivers (8/10)
6. The Dead Zone (8/10)
7. A History of Violence (8/10)
8. Naked Lunch (7.5/10)
9. Rabid (7/10)

Haven't seen some of the others recent enough to count. And still haven't seen Spider, M Butterfly or Eastern Promises.

One of the best directors around...

1. VIDEODROME
2. DEAD RINGERS
3. CRASH
4. SHIVERS
5. THE FLY
6. NAKED LUNCH
7. A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE
8. RABID
9. SPIDER
10. CRIMES OF THE FUTURE
11. THE DEAD ZONE
12. SCANNERS
13. THE BROOD
14. EXISTENZ
15. EASTERN PROMISES
16. STEREO
17. M. BUTTERFLY
18. FAST COMPANY

But, if we were including short films, CAMERA would be my all-time favorite. It's an amazing little piece of film.

Ahhh...Cronenberg. And Canadian to boot? One of the most unique and talented directors alive. Strange how he's gone decidedly 'mainstream' with his last two films. Anyone care to comment on why?

My favs (subject to change):

1. Videodrome
2. The Fly
3. Shivers
4. Scanners/The Brood
5. History of Violence
6. Dead Zone
7. Rabid
8. Eastern Promises

...I am 'meh' about Dead Ringers, but its been years.

Did not like Spider or Crash, and havent seen the rest.

THE BROOD /VIDEODROME
RABID
THE DEAD ZONE
SCANNERS
THE FLY
DEAD RINGERS
SHIVERS
EASTERN PROMISES
A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE
NAKED LUNCH
EXISTENZ
CRASH

Either haven't seenin too long, haven't seen @ all or haven't seen enough of the others to rank 'em

Kinda leaves me cold, most of the time. History of Violence IMO was better than most of his stuff I've seen. I still need to see Naked Lunch.

Shouldn't you be sticking with Fucli or some such director?

Brings to mind a quote:

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

Mmyers is growing up and leaving Fulci behind with the rest of his childish nonsense!!!
